Price guide
What changes the price of a carport
Six things decide what you pay. The calculator above includes all of them.
- Size — the biggest factor - a double (36 m²) costs about R10 500 more than a single (18 m²)
- Design — Open is the lowest; a Pitched roof costs about a third more on the same size
- Roof sheeting — Galvanised IBR is about R3 500 less than Chromadek on a double; clear polycarbonate about R2 800 more
- Height — 2.4 m is standard; 3 m adds about R1 100 on a double
- Walls — fixed to your house or a boundary wall on one side, it needs fewer posts - about R1 100 less
- Distance — travel is charged per day on site, about R750 a day for every 16 km from us; a double takes 2 days
Figures for a 6 m x 6 m Boxed double carport with Chromadek IBR, excl. VAT. Gutter and downpipe are included; leave them off and it is about R850 less.
Roof sheeting
Chromadek, Galvanised or Polycarbonate?
The sheeting changes the look and the price. Prices are for a 6 m x 6 m Boxed double, excl. VAT. Zincalume costs about the same as Chromadek.
Chromadek IBR
Painted steel sheeting - about R29 200 on a double
Steel sheeting with a baked-on colour finish, so the carport can match your house roof or gutters.
- Choice of colours
- Neat, finished look
- Costs a little more than galvanised
Galvanised IBR
Silver zinc-coated steel - about R3 500 less on a double
The plain silver steel sheet. Strong and practical, and the most affordable roof.
- Lowest price
- Also available in corrugated
- Silver only - turns dull grey over time
Clear polycarbonate
See-through roof sheets - about R2 800 more on a double
Keeps the rain off but lets daylight through, so the area under it stays bright.
- Bright underneath
- Keeps rain off
- Shows dirt and leaves - needs a wash now and then
- Costs the most of the three

Carports
Our carports start at 3 m x 5.5 m. A single carport is usually about 3 m wide and 5.5 m to 6 m deep, and a double about 6 m x 6 m (36 m²). We make every carport to measure, so any size in between - or bigger - is possible.
We install about 18 m² of carport a day, so a single carport usually takes one day on site and a double about two days.
Building plans and council approval are arranged by you, the property owner. Please check with your local municipality before the work starts.
Yes. A side fixed to a wall needs fewer posts, which also lowers the price. In the calculator, open More options and choose Wall for that side.
Yes, we do removals, quoted separately. Removing a lapa costs more than a carport, as it is labour intensive, takes time and has to be taken down safely.
Yes, as extras. Electrical work is done by a qualified electrician we bring in, and any type of floor - paving, concrete or other - is laid by a contractor we work with. Ask for these when you request your quote.
